SHOTGUN ATHLETES SET NEW WORLD AND ASIAN RECORDS
The Kazakhstan national shotgun team delivered a strong performance at the Asian Championships 2026 Shotgun, held in Doha, Qatar, from January 11 to 22. Kazakh athletes demonstrated a high level of preparation, confident skills, and consistent results throughout the tournament.
At the end of the competition, the Kazakhstan national team took first place in the overall team standings both among senior athletes and in the youth category, confirming its status as one of the leaders in Asian shooting sports.
Second place in the overall team standings was claimed by the host team, Qatar, which won 8 medals. Third place went to Kuwait, with a total of 7 medals.
Kazakh athletes Eduard Eshchenko, Adel Sadakbayeva, and Eleonora Imbragimova particularly distinguished themselves during the competition, setting world and Asian records and demonstrating a high level of individual skill.
By the end of the championship, the Kazakhstan national team had won a total of 14 medals, including:
- 5 gold,
- 4 silver,
- 5 bronze.
The competition brought together 17 countries and 196 athletes.
A special achievement of the continental championship was the setting of three world and Asian records, which is an outstanding result and clearly demonstrates the high professionalism of the athletes, as well as the effective and coordinated work of the coaching staff.
The team’s successful performance at the championship is a vivid confirmation of the systematic and consistent work in developing shotgun shooting in the Republic of Kazakhstan and further strengthens the country’s position on the international sports arena.
