KAZAKH ARCHERS WIN BRONZE AT THE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP IN SOUTH KOREA

The Kazakhstan national team won a bronze medal at the World Archery Championship, which is being held in Gwangju, South Korea. This achievement is historic for our country — for the first time in 32 years, Kazakh women reached the podium at a world championship in this sport.

In the women’s team compound event, our national team took third place, defeating Great Britain in the bronze medal match. In a tense contest, the Kazakh archers secured victory with a score of 232:229.

Kazakhstan was represented at the tournament by Viktoriya Lyan, Adel Zheksenbinova, and Roksana Yunusova. Thanks to their teamwork and high-level skills, Kazakhstan has once again made its mark on the international stage.

This is only the second medal in Kazakhstan’s history at World Archery Championships. The first bronze was won by Yana Tuniyants in 1993 in recurve archery. Moreover, earlier this year, the women’s national team also won silver at the World Indoor Championship.

We congratulate our athletes on this remarkable performance and wish them new victories!
