Athletes participate in the World Cup in clay pigeon shooting

12.06.2024

From June 10 to 19, athletes from our center take part in the World Cup in clay pigeon shooting. The honor of Kazakhstan is defended by 12 athletes, who are accompanied by 2 coaches and a massage therapist from the Olympic Training Center.

Skeet shooting is a sporting discipline in which shooting is carried out at targets launched into the air. The history of this sport dates back to the end of the 19th century, when it began as entertainment for hunters. Over time, skeet shooting became a popular sport and was included in the Olympic Games in 1900.

Skeet shooting is divided into several disciplines: trap, skeet and double trap. Each of them requires the highest concentration and precision from athletes. In a trap, targets are launched from a bunker in front of the shooter, in a skeet, targets are thrown from two towers from different sides, and in a double trap, the shooter hits two targets released simultaneously.

Over the decades, skeet shooting has become an integral part of international sporting competitions, including the Olympic Games and the World Cup. Kazakhstani athletes successfully perform at these tournaments, demonstrating high results and winning medals.

We wish our shooters good luck at the World Cup, may their shots be accurate and their results high!
