THE FIRST WINTER TRACK CYCLING CHAMPIONSHIP OF THE REPUBLIC OF KAZAKHSTAN HAS KICKED OFF

Today, a ceremonial opening of the First Winter Track Cycling Championship of the Republic of Kazakhstan took place in Astana at the Saryarka Velodrome.

The championship marked the opening of the 2026 cycling season and became an important event in the development of domestic cycling.

As part of the championship, athletes compete in individual and team races, keirin, sprint, madison, omnium, and other disciplines. The competitions feature the country’s strongest male and female cyclists.

The organization of the winter championship is aimed at popularizing cycling, developing sports infrastructure, and promoting a healthy lifestyle among the youth of Kazakhstan.

The championship will run until January 11.
