A SCHEDULED EVACUATION DRILL WAS CONDUCTED AT THE "SARYARKA" VELODROME AND THE "KAZAKHSTAN" SPORTS COMPLEX FACILITIES
On April 28, 2025, as part of the implementation of subparagraph 9, paragraph 2, Article 18 of the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On Civil Protection,” employees of the Olympic Training Center "Astana" successfully conducted a scheduled evacuation drill at facilities with a high concentration of people.
The event was held at two of the capital’s key sports venues — the “Saryarka” Velodrome (45A Kabanbay Batyr Ave.) and the “Kazakhstan” Athletics Sports Complex (59 Turan Ave.), in accordance with Order No. 82 issued by the Director of the RSE “OTC ‘Astana,’” A.V. Mogilevsky, on April 25, 2025.
The purpose of the drill was to practice a clear action algorithm for staff and visitors in the event of emergencies, including fires, man-made disasters, and terrorist threats. The evacuation was carried out according to a pre-approved plan, in full compliance with all safety requirements.
More than 230 participants took part in the drill — including center staff, technical personnel, representatives of the Cycling Federation, hotel complex staff, and other organizations located on the premises of the sports facilities.
At the assembly point, the drill supervisor conducted additional briefings on actions to take in emergency situations and safety measures in case of a terrorist threat. Such drills play a vital role in ensuring the safety of people and help minimize risks during emergency scenarios. The scheduled evacuation drill was conducted in an organized and successful manner, with all objectives fully achieved.
