ADELYA ZHEKSENBINOVA — MASTER OF SPORT IN ARCHERY, MEMBER OF THE NATIONAL TEAM OF THE REPUBLIC OF KAZAKHSTAN

Adelya Zheksenbinova is a Master of Sport in archery and a member of the national team of the Republic of Kazakhstan. She began practicing this sport at the age of nine, in 2009. The initiator of her first introduction to archery was her mother, who knew that Adelya’s cousin was engaged in this sport and suggested that she attend a training section and try her hand at it.

The initial stage of her sporting journey was challenging. Due to individual anthropometric characteristics — short stature, relatively short arm length, and left-handedness — standard bows commonly used by most beginner athletes were not suitable for her. As a result, both the equipment and the training process were adapted on an individual basis. This approach contributed to the development of patience, adaptability, and the ability to structure the training process in accordance with her own capabilities.

One of the most difficult stages of her sporting career was a professional shoulder joint injury. Surgical intervention was required, followed by a prolonged rehabilitation period that lasted almost one year. After recovery, the athlete pays particular attention to strictly adhering to her established training routine, as any deviations from the plan negatively affect her psychological state and mental resilience.

Support from family members, close ones, and the team plays a significant role in Adelya Zheksenbinova’s sporting career. In team competitions, especially in high-pressure situations, mutual support is an essential condition for achieving results. Simple words of encouragement are not enough — deep understanding, trust, and coordinated interaction are required, without which achieving high results, including medals in team events, is impossible.

The athlete sets a goal of consistently demonstrating high sporting performance and continuously works on improving the technical, physical, and psychological aspects of her preparation, striving for successful performances at national and international competitions.
