Karate

Karate is a type of Japanese martial art, a system of defense and attack without weapons (Jap. 空手), which translates as “empty hand.” The term “karate,” introduced in the 18th century, represents a philosophy and a way of life. The foundation of karate lies in the concept of non-violence. In Japan, members of the armed forces and the police are required to master the art of karate.

Karate classes are conducted by professional instructors in this sport.
